[ TBP ] “The Metamorphosis” and “A Country Doctor”

[ Franz Kafka’s “Metamorphosis” ] An entire family experiencing some sort of “group alteration”. Everyone transformed into something so much different from what they used to be. So many concurrent alterations, and yet not everyone managed to change towards the same direction: some gained self-consciousness, while others lost their humanity; some experienced a crescendo, others sank into despair...

[ Franz Kafka’s “A Country Doctor” ] A seemingly rigid personality losing track of itself. While in the mix up of reality and perception, under extremely stressful (and somewhat paranormal) phenomena, even the world’s most distinguished community members can become circumstantial victims, with nobody left to blame but themselves…

[ Rationale ] Do people actually “transform” into some sort of “new self”, or do they actually “evolve” as they walk down the valley of self-awareness? Shocking as it might be, I reckon that relationships need this (dramatic nonetheless) evolution more than people involved in them actually know.

We need to experience one’s true colours for our self-realization to advance. Maybe the mere perception of change is no different than reaching a tipping point where we are being asked to re-consider our social, mental and psychological acknowledgement of the world, hoping that - if things prove to have changed in ways we are unable to cope with - we could be excused if we eventually quit trying…

"Metamorphosis" by Kazuhiko Nakamura

[ Transmogrification ]

Thirty Moons before my Fall,
I sank into your Mirror;
part of Me to cover up,
part of You to make it up.

There we melted Prejudice,
and kept our troubled Visions;
None of yours could find itself,
none of mine could keep you.

Thirty Suns we saw, and thence
I felt your Transformation.
But mighty Mirroring withstood
perceptive perseverance.

Thus I’m striving up to date,
with none but Blood and Thunder.
to carve the painful Memoire
of what could never Be...
